The Grand Opening of the Celebration
Series for The Olympics in Beijing will take place 12:00-12:30 pm on
Friday, April 18th in front of Ohio State House.
This 30-minute event will start from the festive drum performance to express
the joy of celebrating the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Thereafter will be a brief
speech to announce the formal opening of the Celebration Series. Traditional Taiji and Yangge (or, The Rice-sprout Song) performances will be present to
audience during this event. In the end, six singers will lead a chorus to sing
the Olympic theme Song "Forever Friends". Meanwhile, all the cheer square
performers will wave the Chinese National Flag and Olympic Flag to express the
amity and the common feeling of "One World, One Dream" to friends all over the
world.

开幕式
本次活动开幕式将于4月18日(星期五)，中午12:00-12:30，在俄亥俄州州政府前的广场上举行。历时半小时的开幕活动，将在热闹的锣鼓声中拉开序幕，向美国友人展现国人迎接奥运的喜庆。在短暂的发言宣布系列活动正式开始后，独具中国特色的秧歌表演和传统的太极表演将在广场的草坪上呈现给在场的朋友。最后将由六名歌手领唱北京奥运主题曲Forever Friends。在场的所有方阵演员，挥舞中国国旗和奥运旗帜，向在场以及全世界的朋友们传达和谐友好的共同心声 – "One World, One Dream"！
