为推动广大留学人员在国家创新创业建设中发挥作用，鼓励优秀留学人员回国创业，为其提供平台，教育部和科技部将于2008年继续举办第三届“春晖杯”中国留学人员创新创业大赛。
报名时间：2008年4月28日——7月28日
报名方式：网上报名。 http://www.cscse.edu.cn 或 http://www.cscse.com.cn
评审工作将于8月中下旬进行，评审入围项目将在网上公示。
大赛组委会将邀请项目入围者本人于第十一届中国留学人员广州科技交流会前到广州参加培训，与企业、留学人员创业园、大学科技园和风投基金等进行项目洽谈和对接。大赛组委会将根据项目入围者洽谈的情况进行评奖，并举办颁奖活动。

[edit] SAT class held by MCSCA from 9/9 to 12/16 every Sunday (Aug 14, 2007)
为帮助初、高中的孩子们进一步提高、加强数学及英文词汇、写作能力，以期在即将来临的SAT和PSAT考试中取得更好的成绩，我们将如往年一样，在OSU校园举办SAT和PSAT的数学及英文强化班，时间从9月9日起到12月16日为止，共14次。每周日下午1:30至5:00，地点为OSU Dreese Lab 305 and 317教室,2015 Neil Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43210。
自今年夏季，我们非常高兴的请到了Mrs. Martine Stephens担任英文班老师。Mrs. Martine Stephens于1984年获得OSU英文专业硕士学位，已在Ohio Wesleyan University 担任英文助理教授多年。她所教授的英文写作课获得学生的一致好评。Mrs. Martine Stephens除了具备多年的教学经验外，还因个性幽默活泼，对学生亲切和善而广受好评。为此次教学她花费了许多时间进行认真的准备，将把多年来丰富的教学经验应用到英文班。除提高写作技巧，还将通过教授不同的阅读战略，强化学生的阅读能力。她也将通过强调英文词汇之间的内在联系, 提高学生的词汇水平。夏季班结束前所作的教学鉴定显示，她的教学得到了全体学生的热烈欢迎，学生们在英文词汇和写作方面得到丰富的收获和长足的进步。她将继续担任我们的SAT教师。
自今年秋季，我们非常荣幸地请到了Sam Yang博士作为我们的数学老师。Dr. Yang 1993年在Emory University取得数学博士学位，之后先后在Emory University和University of Massachusetts Boston教授数学，并在Cambridge Chinese Cultural Center兼职教授SAT数学多年，具有丰富的教学和SAT考试经验。他所教授的学生均在SAT数学考试中获得满分或高分。Dr. Yang是一个非常负责任，乐于奉献，性格生动活泼的老师，也因此受到孩子们的欢迎。
此外，自今年秋季开始，我们还将试行AP中文课程，即中文及中华文化AP，简称AP中文，AP中文课程是一门外语课程, 通过考试的考生可以获得大学学分。换言之，通过AP考试，成绩合格者，进入大学后可从第五个学期的中文课选读。

[edit] China Development Research Foundation Outstanding Youth Scholars Recruitment (Aug 7, 2007)
China Development Research Foundation (CDRF) is established by Development Research Center of State Council. Its purpose is improving the level of China’s policy and academic research as well as providing consulting-services for national economic development and economic decision-making departments of the government.
We provide 2 short-term (1-2years) research positions of Assistant Research Fellow for the outstanding youth scholars, in order to help them practice then enter into the research institutes in the future. The work location is Beijing.
The candidates should meet the following requirements:
1. With the PhD degree related social science. The research fields primarily focus on anti-poverty, social security, energy security and environment, financial reform and public budget. And some excellent applicants who pay attention to other research areas on the issues of Chinese development are also welcome to apply.
2. Have the overseas study experience and a wide range of background in different subjects is preferred.
3. Dedicate full-time to our foundation in the coming 1-2 years, and can start work from September 2007.
4. Candidates must have distinct academic achievements, good skills on analysis and communication. He/she can solve practical problems in the research programs, and works closely with the colleagues; therefore he/she will soon be able to acquaint himself/herself with all aspects of research work.
We are looking for the smart, innovative people with passion on study Chinese development. As the winner, the Outstanding Youth Scholars can receive the more competitive rewards for their research work, but accommodation is not covered.

[edit] SAT Math Teacher Wanted by MCSCA for the coming fall quarter (Aug 7, 2007)
A non-profit organization is looking for a qualified SAT teacher who will provide math teaching service to two math classes in Sunday afternoons. This is an enrichment program, and the purpose of the program is to enhance middle and high school students on their SAT and PSAT test scores. Each class is from 10 to 20 students and will be run about one and half hours each time. This is a highly compensated position. [edit] 美中科协理事会主席陈奇博士参加“第四届世界华侨华人社团联谊大会” (Aug 2, 2007)
美中科协理事会主席陈奇博士受国务院侨办及中国驻美国纽约总领馆邀请，作为俄亥俄州的唯一代表，代表美中科协及俄亥俄州的华人华侨留学生及访问学者，赴北京参加由国务院侨办及中国海外交流协会主办的“第四届世界华侨华人社团联谊大会”。大会于6月20日在北京隆重开幕。
中共中央总书记，国家主席胡锦涛亲切接见了全体与会代表，并做了重要讲话。胡总书记代表党中央，国务院，向这次大会的召开表示热烈的祝贺，向与会的各位侨胞，各位朋友表示诚挚的欢迎，向世界各地的华侨华人表示亲切的问候。国务委员唐家璇出席开幕式并致辞. 国务院侨办主任李海峰在开幕式上做了题为“和睦相融，合作共享 – 构建一个充满活力的华侨华人社会” 的主题报告。
来自世界各地的华侨华人社团负责人，港澳台地区华侨团体负责人等共约450人参加了这次联谊活动。作为俄亥俄州的唯一代表，陈奇博士表示，他在北京受到胡主席的接见及国家的隆重接待，感到非常激动并深受鼓舞。他说，荣誉归功于美中科协的全体成员及俄州的广大华人。他将和伙伴们一起，一如既往，再接再厉，为弘扬中华文化，繁荣海外华人社区，创造一个和睦共融，团结友爱，充满活力的海外华人社会而不懈努力。
